Rio is a city of beautiful beaches and Carnival. With a population over 6 million people, it is one of the most popular tourist destination.
Navigating through the busy streets of Rio, I found statue of Mahatma Gandhi very fascinating. With a negligible Indian population in Brazil, it is hard to conceive the idea of witnessing Gandhi’s statue at a very busy intersection. As I learned more, it turns out Brazilians have great respect for Mahatma Gandhi and have very keen interest in India’s culture and history. Last year one of the most popular Brazilian TV Soap was set in India. See link here.
One of my reader 'Logu' could easily identify the location of statue. Thanks Logu.
